Does God Hear The Cry of Our Suffering?

Due to the practice of social distancing, every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday (for Self-Improvement: The Basis for Community Development) The Nation of Islam’s meetings are available for video streaming on NOI.org/webcast. If you scroll pass the video, there is a “Comments or Questions” form that is open for completion by anyone. One of the questions inspired The National Assistant of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Brother Ishmael R. Muhammad to make it the focus of his Sunday, May 27th address at Mosque Maryam. This is a recap and here is a sign translation of this lecture.

This pandemic has trigged a series of events that will lead to a Great War and the end of Satan’s world.

Brother Ishmael Muhammad, The National Assistant of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan

Holy Qur’an 2:186 And when My servants ask thee concerning Me, surely I am nigh. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so they should hear My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way.

The first thing that the believer in God must accept when introduced to God is that He is all wise and is The Best Knower of His creation. So the first words that the reader of The Holy Qur’an is introduced to after The Opening chapter, which is a prayer are these words: I Allah am The Best Knower.

Wow! We say that God is Omnipresent. He’s Omniscient, He’s All Knowing, then our journey of faith begins with those words. I Allah am The Best Knower. Faith is complete trust in someone. Faith is the unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence. Unquestioning belief in God, complete reliance, complete trust, complete confidence in God. So The Believer in God is going to be tried by the things God does, the things that God permits that from our ignorance or limitation of knowledge, we just do not understanding. And in our limited understanding of things and in our own sense of what is right and just, we end up judging God and that’s when we get in trouble.

Brother Ishmael Muhammad, The National Assistant of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan

I have taken up for us a question for a subject that comes up in the minds of many and that is: Does God hear the cry of our suffering? Does he know our suffering, does He see our suffering? And if he does, how does God answer the suffering of the cry of our people?

It’s not just the cry coming from the Blackman in America, but the cry is all over the world. The cry is all over the world. And in our cry to The God, if He does not respond and answer in the way that we think He should answer, we get upset, we get angry with The God, some may lose faith in God, if He does not do what we think He should do. And some of us blame God for our suffering.

So the subject matter we’re about to discuss is layered and it’s partly born out of a question submitted by many of the thousands of listeners to these broadcasts and part of the question we received is: Why does God allow the innocent or the righteous to suffer along with the wicked?

Moses and The Wise Man

You may read about this in The Bible and The Holy Qur’an.

God doesn’t mind you and I asking Him, but to pass judgment is a grave offense with God. So this story of Moses’ travel with the wise man is so informative. It teaches many lessons of faith, patience, and the ego.

He didn’t even question him… He judged him and he said, “What you have done is a grievest thing.” Because what the wise man did according to Moses’ limited sight. See God is a far reaching, a far seeing God. So what he judged in the present with his limited understanding, he couldn’t see what was coming down the road. Nevertheless, the wise man said, “I told you wouldn’t have patience with me.” Moses’ checked himself, “Oh blame me not for what I forgot and don’t be hard on me for what I did.” So the wise man said, “Okay, let’s go.”

Then they met a boy and guess what the wise man did — He slew the boy. .. “Have you slained an innocent person, not guilty of slaying another?” Because the boy had not yet grown up. He didn’t know boys today kill. So, he didn’t know if he was really innocent or not, but he judged. And then he said to the wise man, “What you have done is a horrible thing”. Uh oh! Now, the wise man says, “Didn’t I tell you not to saying anything to me? And didn’t I tell you that you could not have patience with me?” So Moses said again now, “Please forgive me and if I ask you about anything after this keep, keep not company with me. You will then find an excuse for my case.”

Then they found in it (in the city) a wall, which was on the point of falling, so he put it in right state. The wise man fixed up the wall. And Moses said, “If thou had wish thou couldst have taken a recompense for it.” So he fixed something that the city had not fixed. Now, money. “Man, look man. Shoot! That was a very kind act and good act that you did. You should be rewarded for that.” That reveals something else that the wise man at what he was doing is manifesting. And the thing when you walk with God, you have to understand that the things he does is to manifest what is hidden to you, hidden to me that we don’t even know is present in our breasts, in our hearts. It is only when a circumstance is created, it manifests what is hidden. So Allah says in The Qur’an, “I know what you manifest and I know what you hide.” So Allah does things to manifest the things that are hidden even to ourselves.

Let’s go on.

…That’s when the wise man said, “That’s it. I’m through with you man. It’s over. I ain’t going another step further with you. You have reniged on every term. That’s it and this is the parting between me and you. But before I leave you I’m going to inform you of the significance of that that you did not have patience.

As for the boat, yea, I put a hole in it.” He didn’t say it like that. “It belonged to pour people working on the river and I intended to damage it for there was behind them a king, who seized every boat by force. And as for the boy that I slew, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should involve them in wrongdoing and disbelief.” See he saw if he was allowed to live would grow up to become and would cause grief to righteous parents. So we intended that their Lord might give them his place one better to purity and near to mercy. So God took what didn’t even belong to the parents.

This is hard. He is the Author and the rightful owner of life itself. The Lord giveth and The Lord taketh.

“And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them. And their father had been a righteous man. So Thou Lord intended that they should attain their maturity and take out their treasure and mercy from Thou Lord. And I did not do it of my own accord.

That’s powerful. See? I’m a wise man that’s being guided by a Higher Power, I didn’t do this on my own accord. God is directing me. God is ordering my steps. So The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said of this story of Moses’ travel and search of knowledge with the wise man is a picture of his followers and how his followers followed him with doubt and suspicion. Whenever God gives you a wise man, he’s always going to do things that go against your understanding of revelation, your interpretation of revelation, your understanding of what is right. And the only thing missing with Moses, as The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan Says, it wasn’t patience that he was lacking, it was faith.

So every event or circumstance or trial in one’s life, it demands greater faith in The God in whom you give your trust and confidence.

I just wanted to lay that story out for us because in order to understand why God permits what He permits, we must first approach Him or come to Him with faith. And putting our trust and confidence that He knows, He’s the Hearer, He’s the Seer.

So my dear and beloved brother and sister, God is not like us. God is not emotional, He’s precise, He operates on the highest law of mathematics.

I’m laying a base so that we can come to term and understand why did God make devil, why did Satan come into existence, why the suffering in the world, why did God permit our fathers to be brought in the holes of ship and to suffer under the most humane conditions ever in the annals of history. What is God doing?

As a people, it is written in the Bible that God would choose His people from the furnace of affliction. God has been fashioning and forming this material over time. Your and my value is invaluable to what God is doing and is going to do in establishing a new world order, a new heaven, and a new earth. And His Kingdom has to be built on a strong indestruable foundation.

Diamonds are valuable, but their value comes because they come from the mantle deep down into the core of the earth under intense heat and pressure and that’s where it gets it value.

So things that are aged over time — Some of the finest wood are from the trees that have been on the earth for decades. So we are material from the earth and God has been fashioning and forming us under intense pressure, under great suffering. And that’s why He didn’t send a prophet for us. Our condition, our agony, our misery, our suffering has called The God onto the scene.

The Minister says, The way you start to become like God is by obeying Him whether you understand or not, but you got to believe in God in order to obey Him. You’ve got to have trust in God in order to obey Him. Because it’s difficult for us to say that we understand such a magnificent being as The Creator. I mean please we may never understand God. So it’s not about your or my understanding God. It’s about our trusting and believing in Him enough that if He tells us do this according To The Word, we say we hear and obey. And if we do that, that’s the first stage of beginning to grow into the mind of God. Most of us say we believe in God, I have faith in Him, I love Him, but we do not follow His commandments. Love of God is to obey His commandments. Faith in God is to do what He says. Outside of obedience you and I cannot really say that we have faith or love in The God. So if we do that The Minister says, that’s the first stage in beginning to grow in the mind of God.

We are an indestructible people. What we have gone through as a people —We were brought in the holes of ships to be the burden bearers of the Europeans. They made us to be the drawers of water, and the hewers of wood and stone. The transatlantic slave trade, was the beginning of our undoing and total destruction as a people. We lost millions in the middle passage. We had to endure the travel in boats chained to one another, defecating on ourselves. The inhumane treatment demonstrates the hatred that they had for us. We had to endure 310 years of chaddle slavery. We’ve taken the whip, we’ve been beat, we’ve been killed, we’ve been lynched. Oh God! Do you know our suffering, all of that we have been through? Of course I know. I saw this before you were born.

There is this cry from Black people in America. There is a universal cry for justice, but the cry is heard the loudest from the Black, the Brown, and the darker people of our people. And the cry is great when it comes to our suffering.

We are a people that have been taught that faith is something you believe in and then you’re going to be taken and ushered into heaven and put on raised couches and somebody is going to feed you. Yea, right. Heaven is a condition. Heaven requires the work of those who want happiness. So if we want happiness, joy, and peace in our life, we’ve gotta exercise and work our faith. For James, the disciple said, faith without works is dead.

The goodness of the scripture is that God has heard our cry. God has already answered our cry. And God has come Hisself to relieve us of our suffering, to deliver us from our enemy. God wants to separate us from our enemy. We don’t have a future with the enemy. And God in answering that prayer, in answering that cry, He raised from up from among us The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. These two are the answer of God for us. What more could we ask for from God. If we suffer today after having the presence of God and divine guidance and solution to our problems, then that suffering is self-inflicted.

Don’t expect God to come and introduce Himself in the name that the oppressor has represented God to the people in. God is going to represent His identity and make known his name to the people that the people did not know. I think the work of The Nation of Islam, the work of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the work of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is more than enough proof and evidence of the presence of God. What The Honorable Elijah Muhammad did and The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan did and is doing is unprecedented. No Black leader has ever spoken to the slavemaster with power and authority. Because neither one of them in all of their good intents didn’t have a power to go to the powers with. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan distinguished themselves because they take God to the slavemaster, God to Satan. And they are representing the bigger power that is in the world.

God is present and He has heard our cry by reason of our taskmasters. He’s come Himself to deliver us. He’s come Himself to protect us. He’s come Himself to shield us, but we have something to do. In order to relieve ourselves. See the children of Israel, they had to listen at some point to Moses and Aaron. But it was only after the plagues that the children of Israel said, yea I think we better go with Moses and Aaron and their God. But it was only after COVID-19 (I mean the locusts). It was only after the water is being turned to blood (COVID-19). It was only after the hail, famine, all of these plagues made manifest that there was a greater power in the land than those who flaunt their power. They are powerless against God.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will speak on July 4, 2020, Insha’Allah (God Willing).

We were happy to learn this morning on the prayerline that The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan God Willing will speak to the world on July 4, the occasion of The Nation of Islam’s birth made possible by that Son of Man in the scriptures seen by Jesus who comes from the East to the West. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary birth of The Nation of Islam and the presence of God among the modern children of Israel.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will speak to us, speak to the world. He has a message for President Trump, he has a message for the government of the United States of America. And it will perhaps be the last time that we will hear the sound of the trumpet. He will inform us of things to come, he will tell us what is on the horizon, so let’s get the word out to let the world know that God’s servant has a message.

And the history shows that when the people listened and followed the divine guidance given to them through the messenger from among themselves they were spared from the chastisement of Allah.
